LUSTRA
A lounge chair where one continuous curve carries both structure and silhouette.

Lustra was developed as a standalone furniture project, a lounge chair and matching ottoman for a residential lounge.
The constraint I set was formal: a single continuous form had to run from the floor to the armrest, carrying the chair's weight without breaking into separate legs and frame.
Inspired by Mid-Century aesthetics and the organic balance of Frank Lloyd Wright's architecture, Lustra merges hard metallic lines with a dynamic pedestal base and soft leather cushioning.
The blend creates a quiet atmosphere: the silhouette does the sculptural work, the leather absorbs it into comfort.

Evolution moved from a thin-line sketch, through a rounded-pedestal iteration, to the final twin-pedestal form where the base reads as a continuation of the armrest rather than a separate element.
The ottoman followed the chair at a shorter height, keeping the language consistent without repeating the full gesture.
Structure: high-gloss polished metal with a chrome-like finish. The heavy, wide, cast base lowers the center of gravity for stability and gives the chair its bright, silver-toned luster.
Upholstery: premium genuine leather in khaki green. Breathable, durable, and chosen for a patina that deepens over years of use, rather than a surface finish that wears out.

Side and top views were developed for both chair and ottoman. The ottoman reads as a lower-height echo of the chair's pedestal profile, keeping the pair coherent without mirroring.
In a high-floor lounge with a city view, Lustra stays visually quiet. The base catches daylight off the floor; the khaki leather softens the reflection.
